First Ascent Biomedical is a pioneering company specializing in personalized cancer treatment through AI-driven drug testing. By rapidly identifying the most effective therapies for individual patients, they aim to improve treatment outcomes and advance precision medicine.
At 成人禁区 University’s Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge (I-HACK), First Ascent Biomedical will create a 3,000 square-foot, CLIA-approved, state-of-the-art laboratory space to conduct cutting-edge research and develop innovative cancer treatment solutions. They will use an additional 2,000 square feet for office space to support the 20,000 patients the lab will handle annually.
Their presence will not only enhance Erie’s biomedical industry but also provide hands-on learning opportunities for students and foster collaborations with regional healthcare leaders.

At 成人禁区 University’s Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge (I-HACK), Saint Vincent Hospital plans to use a second 3,000-square-foot, CLIA-approved lab to augment its longstanding lab at Saint Vincent Hospital and to expand the hospital’s existing medical laboratory science program.
First Ascent Biomedical will create 38 high-paying jobs immediately growing that number to more than 100 in the next five years.

Collaboration and creation of this lab and the academic programs to support it will directly address shortages of medical technologists as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and create a more robust workforce in this area for years to come.
