The Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Theology prepares students with the theological, pastoral, and leadership competencies for ministry and service in diverse contexts. Guided by the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, the Pastoral Theology Program fosters a strong foundation in the major theological disciplines and cognate areas, cultivating mature pastoral and theological reflection.
Graduates of the program demonstrate theological and pastoral knowledge, as well as collaboration and cultural sensitivity, preparing them to serve faithfully and responsibly in a variety of ministerial and professional settings. They learn to integrate theological reflection with practical leadership, communication, and organizational skills, ensuring they can respond to the complex needs of contemporary Christian communities.

The program offers both academic excellence and pastoral depth— at an affordable rate of just $500 per credit hour. Designed with flexibility in mind, the fully online format allows students to balance their studies with the demands of ministry, family, and work. Whether lay or ordained, students are invited into a transformative journey of faith, wisdom, and service—equipping them to bring theology to life and lead their communities with insight, creativity, and grace.
As a fully online program, the Pastoral Theology degree is easily attainable for working professionals, ministers, and recent college graduates. Full-time Graduate students will typically take two or three courses per semester. However, the program also supports the needs of part-time students. Theology and Pastoral courses are 14 weeks in length, and cognate specialization courses can be either 7 or 14 weeks in duration.
