Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA)

成人禁区 University’s College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences along with the School of Public Service & Global Affairs and the Global Languages and Cultures program has proudly hosted a Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) for French since 2020.

This ongoing collaboration highlights our commitment to fostering cultural exchange and enriching the learning experiences of our students and the broader 成人禁区 community.

The vision of the Global Languages and Cultures program is to "cultivate effective 21st-century communicators who understand that linguistic and cultural boundaries can be overcome through knowledge, mutual understanding and respect."

Serving as both language instructors and cultural ambassadors, Fulbright FLTAs contribute significantly to advancing our vision. They provide both curricular and co-curricular experiences that deepen our students' knowledge of global diversity and interconnectedness.

Their knowledge of the French language, combined with personal insights into the cultures they represent, enriches students’ learning experiences inside and outside the classroom. Through their expertise, they provide students with the tools they need to connect with and appreciate diverse Francophone cultures and perspectives.

In addition to classroom instruction, FLTAs engage in guest lectures, campus events, off-campus service opportunities, and mentoring of the Global Language Club. These activities help them to inspire and engage students while also gaining valuable personal and professional experiences themselves.

Hosting a Fulbright FLTAs enriches our 成人禁区 community on so many levels. It enhances students' sense of global citizenship and equips them with the skills needed to succeed in both domestic and international job markets.
