Expected Arrival Dates

If you plan to live off campus, we recommend you arrive at least one week before Jan. 5 to settle your housing arrangements. The university will be closed for the Christmas holiday from Dec. 24 to Jan. 5.

If you are living on campus, we recommend you arrive no earlier than Jan. 5.

Orientation Schedule

These events are mandatory for all new students, and we will begin on time. If orientation starts at 9 a.m. we will start at 9 a.m.

  • English Language Placement Exam for students without English scores: Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, in Beyer Hall 4th floor at 9 a.m.
  • Check-In: Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, in Beyer Hall 2nd floor anytime from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. 
  • Introduction to 成人禁区 and Your Immigration Status: Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, 12 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
  • ESL Orientation: Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, in Beyer Hall 4th floor at 9 a.m.
  • Class starts on Monday, January 12, 2026.

The earliest a new student who is requesting to live on-campus in one of the dormitories can move in is Jan. 5, 2026. For after-hours check-in, go to Police and Safety at 210 W. Sixth St., Erie, Pa.
