Admission Requirements
Internal candidates may be considered for early admission according to the following guidelines. Students are required to submit the Graduate Admission Application by January 15 of their junior year; they will be notified of admissions decisions by March 15th of their junior year. Students who meet early entry admission requirements will be provisionally accepted and will need to meet full acceptance requirements upon review of the spring transcript of the junior year. Accepted students will be eligible to take 500-level courses in the senior year as undergraduate students if they possess the following pre-requisite qualifications:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 overall
- A grade of C or better in Applied Exercise Science core courses:

External Candidates and 成人禁区 Non-Early Admission Candidates
Students should apply by January 15 of the year of entry. (After January 15, applications will be considered on a space available basis.)
- Submit official transcripts showing an undergraduate degree in exercise science, kinesiology, human performance, sports medicine or related field from an accredited college or university.
- GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale in undergraduate coursework.
- A 750-word essay describing your personal goals and how this degree will help you pursue them.
- Two letters of recommendation from any of the following: coach, mentor, boss/supervisor, professor, academic advisor (1 academic letter of recommendation required).
- Undergraduate work in the following courses is recommended:
- Nutrition
- Exercise Physiology with lab
- Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II with Lab
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Psychology
- Kinesiology or Biomechanics with Lab
- Exercise Testing & Prescription with Lab
- Research Methods and/or Statistics
Admission Process
Candidates will be considered on a rolling basis for the summer cohort of the calendar year for which they are applying. On special occasions, students may be considered for fall or spring semester entry. Students will be notified of admissions decisions after review by the department admissions committee.
Additional Information
Classes are a mix of in-person and online formats. During the summer, classes are typically held in the morning in the fall and spring semesters classes are in the afternoon, evenings, or online. Students can choose to be full-time or part-time.
