  • Respiratory therapists are essential members of emergency, ICU, neonatal and transport teams, directly impacting patient survival and recovery. You will learn to evaluate and treat breathing disorders such as asthma, emphysema, bronchitis and pneumonia while providing life-saving care for heart failure, trauma, stroke, shock, premature birth and post-surgical complications. Gain real-world knowledge through key respiratory care courses including: 

Mechanical Ventilation and Critical Care and Lab: Master the application and operation of mechanical ventilators in patient care. The course includes applied critical care, including monitoring techniques practiced in the clinical Patient Simulation Center SIM lab.

Respiratory Care Procedures: Study different therapeutic modalities used in respiratory care, including humidity therapy, hyperinflation therapy, aerosol and pharmacologic therapy, bronchial drainage and airway care.

Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care: Focuses on the assessment and management of respiratory disorders in neonatal and pediatric patients. Emphasizes age-specific anatomy and physiology, respiratory support techniques, and the application of evidence-based care in critical and non-critical settings.
