As an integral part of the overall Recreation and Wellness Department, the Sport Clubs Program supports the common interests of students pursuing particular sport activities as a means of skill and social development and competitive play. In addition, Sport Clubs serve as learning experiences for members as they become involved in the administrative activities of the clubs to which they belong. The management of each club is the mutual responsibility of its members. Sport Clubs offer opportunities for students to develop leadership, management, and organizational skills in addition to the benefits of physical activity and team participation.
