Student Opportunities

There are many engaging opportunities offered by the Mathematics Department that allow for hands-on learning and networking for our students.

Conferences and Professional Development

Our students have the opportunity to attend our annual trip to the Allegheny Mountain Section of the Mathematical Association of America Meeting, where students attend professional talks and have the opportunity to present a talk as well. Students can also meet with actuaries and data scientists from Erie Insurance annually on campus.

Internships

Students not engaged in research will take part in an internship off campus. Many of these internships are paid and can lead to job offers. Recent students have interned for companies such as Erie Insurance and Big Ideas Learning: A Larson Texts Company.

In addition, the university's provides free peer-tutoring for students enrolled in introductory STEM courses. The STEM Center also offers paid campus jobs to students who serve as peer-tutors. Some students even have the opportunity of serving as a STEM-PASS tutor assigned to assist with a specific section of a course.

Study Abroad

成人禁区 mathematics majors may take part in study abroad opportunities with careful planning. Recent students have participated in the prestigious

Clubs and Contests

成人禁区 has an active, student-run . The Math Club organizes talks by faculty and by students, participates in service activities and holds regular social events including an annual Pi Day party.

Students also take part in departmental outreach efforts including our annual Differentiation Bee contest held for regional high school students and our annual Integration Bee contest held for 成人禁区 students taking Calculus 2.
